The Chicago Heights Workforce Center relocated in July 2014 after nearly three years of co-location with the Illinois Department of Employment Security at 1010 Dixie Highway since December 2011. Our present location at Prairie State College has a state-of-the-artwork resource middle, as well as entry to classrooms and pc labs for our purchasers. This location supplies lots of of low-revenue adults and dislocated staff with profession providers similar to job readiness coaching, profession teaching, job placement and coaching alternatives. As a results of this move, Able’s partnership with Prairie State College has produced successful outcomes! Initially after we relocated, our focus was on getting the word out that we moved. We needed job seekers to know that Able was still in the community offering companies. Staff participated in lots of recruitment events and established partnerships with other neighborhood-based organizations within the space for referrals. With everyone’s effort, Able was in a position to serve 445 purchasers out of this location via the adult and dislocated worker program in its first publish-move yr! Able’s staff have also labored exhausting throughout the program yr to assist shoppers achieve their goals â€" we were in a position to place one hundred ninety clients in full time self-sustaining employment! Much of our success can be attributed to our new service delivery process which includes Job Search Work Teams, Crash Course (a two-day intensive job readiness workshop), and the Training Guidance Workshop. This upcoming program 12 months, we plan on extending services to even more job seekers in need! The Chicago Heights Workforce Center at Prairie State College will be planning some hiring events in coordinatio n with our business improvement staff. Our staff will continue offering the most effective customer support attainable to exceed our purchasers’ expectations. We will proceed establishing and strengthening partner relationships with neighborhood-based organizations, chambers, and companies that may lead to collaborations, job referrals and assets for our clients. More particularly, Able will proceed building on our relationship with the Illinois Department of Employment Security and continue to be an integral a part of the Southland Human Leadership Council Meetings facilitated by United Way. Also, we’re at present within the process of expanding entry to model-new workshops provided by theCenter for Economic Progress. With the further improvement of group partnerships and new workshop offerings, we're assured that our second 12 months at Prairie State College will be much more successful than last 12 months!
